Mobile Phones
Mobile phones have been around for a long time, but it is only in the last ten years or so that they have started to become the mandatory cultural item that they are now. These devices are everywhere, from the one in your own pocket to those in everyone else’s.
They have made the world into a much smaller place as we can now communicate with (theoretically) whoever we want, whenever we want and because we can save phone numbers in them we do not need to dial a number most of the time. The same applies to texting, one of the many extra features that all mobile phones have, where we can write out messages and send them to our friends. We can also email them if our phones have access to the internet (and most do). But there are also many more added features that people enjoy on the phones, including all kinds of ringtones, games, calculators, alarms, reminders, a camera for pictures and videos and the ability to listen to the radio.
Mobile phones are here to stay. The effect that they have had on our world is colossal and they will undoubtedly continue to progress and include more features as time goes on.
